KUBEYRAN BAGS 6 AS STICKS BEAT MILLENNIUM CRICKET CLUB (MCC)

A spot on bowling performance by 17 year old Kubeyran Naidu helped Sticks get MCC all out for a paltry 38 runs. His bowling performance of 6 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs has suddenly given the selectors a headache in naming the playing 11 for the upcoming inter-state games. There was only one notable scorer in the MCC side in Mohd. Waseem where he scored 15 runs not out while wickets fell around him. The other bowlers to be mentioned are Oney Rahman whom took 1 wicket for 8 runs in 3 overs and Megaguheen whom took 2 wickets and giving away only 5 runs in 1 over. Sticks Tigers got to the required target of 39 runs easily to finish the league stages of the competition being unbeaten in all of their 5 matches. Opening batsman, Shankar Goonasagaran played a steady role by hitting 21 runs not out with two fours in his brief innings. Sticks got to their target in 6.5 overs, winning comfortably by 8 wickets. Sticks finishes top of the table, with Penang Sports Club, Lumut Navy and Friends Cricket Club finishing second, third and fourth respectively. The semi finals will be between Sticks Tigers and Friends Cricket Club while Penang Sports Club take on Lumut Navy. Dates are to be confirmed. Stay tuned and do come and give the teams support for the semi finals and finals :)
